ST. CATHARINES, ON - Brock women's volleyball head coach Dale Melnick is pleased to announce the addition of 6-foot-2 middle blocker Grace Pyatt who will join the Badgers in 2017-18.
Grace is a tremendous student athlete both on and off the court," said Brock women's volleyball head coach Dale Melnick. "She will bring the next level of athleticism to our program very much like alumnus Rachel Roorda. We're very excited to see Grace in Brock red next year."
Pyatt currently plays for the U18 Mountain Volleyball Club. From 2013-16 she played for the Niagara Rapids where she helped lead them 16U Provincial Gold Tier 2 in 2014. She was twice named Most Improved Player and last season received the Niagara Rapids Award of Excellence.
"Grace is an extremely athletic and hard working athlete with a positive and selfless attitude. Her infectious energy is something her teammates feed off of. Grace's continual desire to learn is one of her best assets and will be a key to her success at Brock."Grace attends Thorold Secondary School where she was a multi-sport athlete receiving many accolades. She was a three-time Captain and Team MVP of the girl's volleyball team. She represented Thorold twice at the Niagara College High School All-Star Volleyball Game. In 2016 she led the Eagles to the Zone Championship and were SOSSA finalists. In 2014 she led her team to a Junior Girls Volleyball SOSSA Championship and was also part of three consecutive Zone Championships in basketball. She also competed in javelin at the SOSSA Track & Field Championships.Grace is an honour role student and has twice received the Student Athlete Recognition Award at Thorold Secondary School.
